[Ecommerce News] Pinterest Introduces Promoted Videos

Pinterest is now letting brands bring their story to life through promoted videos. These non-intrusive, GIF-like native video ads appear as pins and will animate as people scroll. Users also have the option to enlarge videos to full-screen.

Pinterest’s promoted videos – which are charged per impression – gives ecommerce companies another way to connect, engage, entertain and educate potential customers. This could include creating tutorials, producing humorous content or posting inspirational stories.

With over two-thirds of users being female and nearly a third being between the ages of 25-34, the top uploaded videos on this channel currently include home improvement, exercise, hair and beauty. With 75% of saved pins coming from business and brand boards, B2C companies that primarily target women have the biggest opportunity in leveraging this new feature.
