As we move into the second half of 2015, Origins Ecommerce is excited to announce a number of platform improvements to expand merchants' customer reach and help to boost revenues. Highlights include a streamlined signup page for merchants with private affiliate networks, expanded payment options for European shoppers and two exciting improvements to the API.
Support for SOFORT Banking has been extended to now include eight European countries: Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Slovakia, Spain and France. As a result, customers who have an IP address associated with one of these eight countries and are purchasing a non-recurring offer will see SOFORT Banking as a payment option on the cart page.
API users can now charge a subsequent purchase to an existing buyer profile regardless of whether the buyer's initial sale included recurring offers. This functionality allows merchants to use the API to support both in-app purchases and post-purchase upsell and cross-sell transactions without requiring the buyer to re-enter their credit card details.
The API's gateway error codes have been updated to contain more detailed responses when a request cannot be fulfilled. These details provide API users with additional insight into why a transaction attempt was unsuccessful so any necessary adjustments can be made before the transaction is re-attempted.
