As Instagram’s popularity continues to grow, so do the opportunities for ecommerce businesses. As of today, advertiser profiles now have the option to include a “Contact” button, giving consumers new ways to connect with their favorite brands.

This feature has several options – brands can include a phone number, an email address and even directions to the nearest store.

The motivation behind this latest update is to further differentiate brand pages from personal accounts. This follows the footsteps of Instagram’s parent company, Facebook, which is developing ecommerce functionality on their platform to increase business utility and revenue.
